Lake Gaston: Building Community On and Off the Water
One of the best parts of WakeWell is visiting different chapters and seeing how God is using the wake community to bring people together. Recently, the WakeWell team traveled to Lake Gaston to spend time with the Lake Gaston chapter, connect with the local community, and enjoy a day on the water.
We started the day with a short message and time to reflect on our faith. While wakeboarding and watersports are at the heart of what brings us together, the mission of every WakeWell chapter goes far beyond riding. Our goal is to create spaces where people can grow in their relationship with Jesus, build meaningful friendships, and find a community that encourages them both on and off the water.
After the message, we headed out on the boat to ride, hang out, and enjoy the lake together. There were plenty of laughs, good conversations, and time to simply enjoy being together. Days like this are a reminder that some of the best connections happen when we slow down, get outside, and spend time with the people around us.
The Lake Gaston chapter is a great example of what WakeWell is all about: Love God. Love Others. Love Wake. Whether we're gathered around a message, sitting in a boat, or riding behind it, the goal remains the same: to build relationships, create community, and point people toward Christ through the sport we love.
We're thankful for the Lake Gaston chapter and for the opportunity to spend time with their community. We're excited to see how God continues to work through Lake Gaston and through WakeWell chapters growing across the country.
